How to use word-length lists
Choose the number of written letters in the answer, from 2 through 15. Wordilizer counts the normalized A–Z spelling: punctuation, spaces, and hyphens are not separate characters because the source data contains lowercase alphabetic entries only. The result page shows the total count and lets you narrow the list by beginning, ending, or contained letters.
Start broad, then add one dependable clue
Length is often the first fact supplied by a crossword grid or classroom exercise, but it rarely identifies an answer by itself. Open the relevant list and add the first letter, final letters, or a continuous sequence you know. When exact positions matter, switch to thecrossword pattern solver. When you have a pool of tiles instead, use the word unscrambler.
Begin with the guided lists
The 5 letter and 6 letter pages include detailed guidance for common puzzle situations. Other lengths remain available as functional search results, but Wordilizer keeps them out of search indexes until they receive the same level of independent editorial review. This avoids presenting automatically generated variations as stand-alone articles.
Why counts differ between word lists
Dictionaries and games make different editorial choices about regional, historical, inflected, technical, and offensive terms. Wordilizer uses a broad open list, so a matching spelling is not guaranteed to be valid in a particular game or publication. Read the methodology for the precise inclusion and matching rules, and consult the relevant official dictionary when eligibility matters.
