Choose the search that matches what you know
Word searches work best when the tool reflects the evidence in front of you. If you have a group of tiles, use the word unscrambler; it checks which words can be made without using any letter more often than it appears. If the positions are fixed, enter a pattern in the crossword solver. A question mark stands for one unknown letter and an asterisk can span any number of letters.
Use starting with or ending with when the edge of the word is known. The containing-letters tool handles either an exact sequence or required letters in any order. The length browser is the broadest option and is most useful when the number of spaces is your only clue.
What a result means
A result means that an entry from Wordilizer's source list satisfies the spelling filters you selected. It does not mean that every dictionary, classroom, crossword publisher, or word game accepts the entry. The source intentionally covers a broad range of English, including uncommon, historical, regional, inflected, and specialist words. Treat unfamiliar results as candidates and verify them against the rules of your activity.
How the lists are maintained
Every tool searches the same normalized dataset, so the filters stay consistent across pages. Wordilizer publishes the source, transformation rules, search behavior, limitations, and correction process on its methodology page. The original license notice is available under credits.
